It's Officially Summer Vacation! July Currently and Upcoming Math Freebies

Wednesday was my last day with kiddos. I'm going to miss them so much! No tears were shed though, just lots of smiles and hugs. Then Thursday was my last day at my old school... cleaned out my classroom, did my files, and got my report cards all ready to go. Friday was a year-end breakfast with my staff (a few tears were shed there... I'm going to miss my grade partners and my fantastic EA's), then I was off to my new school! I got to peak around my classroom and talk to the Kindergarten teacher about my upcoming class. Looks like I have a pretty weak bunch coming in, so should be interesting!

Here's my new classroom. If you've seen my Classroom Organization post, you know how much I love labels... something my new classroom is missing. Labels and organization. EEK! I'm not allowed back into my school until mid-August, so lots of prep work is going to be done at home.

My first piece of official summer vacation business: camping! Here's a few pics from our wonderful trip. The weather was smokin' hot! Hence my beautiful sunburn. Ouch! Bella loves swimming and camping, so she had a blast!

In celebration of my love for summer, this week is going to be "Math Fun in the Sun!" I'm going to be posting a FREE math centre/game each day next week! They can be used in Math Work Stations, Math Daily 5, or however you see fit! I am going to be posting more about my Daily 5 Math later on this summer... I still have lots of figuring out to do. Make sure you come back tomorrow to check out your first freebie!

And last but not least, linking up with the hilarious Farley over at Oh' Boy 4th Grade for her July Currently!

Here's my favourite read aloud... my mom introduced it to me... "Miss Brooks Loves Books (and I don't)" by Barbara Bottner. It's about a librarian who loves books and a little girl who doesn't. The little girl soon finds out there is a book for everybody! :)

And if you need to know anything about guided reading, you will find it in this book by Fountas & Pinnell. It's my go-to guide for guided reading.

There you have it! Go link up with Farley if you haven't done so yet!

And come back tomorrow for your first math freebie! Good night! And Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadian bloggers!
