Five for Friday!

It's been a while since I linked up with Doodle Bugs for her Five for Friday, so I thought I would give it a whirl this week. I even managed to get it up before midnight! And it has been a busy, busy Friday! My fiancé just left for a camping/fishing bachelor party weekend, so I've got the baby, dogs, and cats all to myself for three days. I took Zoe and my mom to my final wedding dress fitting this afternoon. Then had a lovely visit with my parents and brother. What have you been up to this week? Click the picture below to link up or check out the other blogs who have linked up their five!

If you follow me on instagram or Facebook, you might have already seen this, but I finally got my own personalized Melonheadz! Nikki over at Melonheadz Illustrating did such a cute job. I just love my doodle!

I figured out the first job for my new Amanda Melonheadz. I'm going to make little business cards/magnets with my contact information to give to parents at the beginning of the year! It has my name, our school's name, the school's phone number, my email, and our classroom wiki address. So cute!

Ok, seeing as the first three numbers of my Five for Friday are all about Melonheadz, it's probably official. I'm an addict. I have the badge to prove it.

I can never just work on one thing at a time. I've got about a million different wedding projects on the go and about two million school-related projects on the go as well. Here are a few TpT projects I'm in the middle of... Hope to have them up soon!

I never thought I would give up the feeling of reading with an actual book in my hand, but since I've started using the Kindle app on my iPad, I love it! Don't get me wrong, I will never stop buying actual books for my classroom. But for personal use, it is sooooo much easier to carry around one iPad (or even use my iPhone when I'm waiting in line somewhere) than a backpack full of books. Here are the school books I've got waiting for me to crack into.

I have two actual books I want to read as well...

Has anybody read any of these books? What did you think of them?

I haven't joined in on the book studies, but I am loving reading the posts on the new Daily 5 book. Check out these awesome blogs for some great insight into the Daily 5: First Grade Blue Skies,  A Day in First Grade, and A Differentiated Kindergarten

Toodles!

  1. Hi Amanda...I have read and am now rereading The Next Step in Guided Reading. Great, practical information for emergent, transitional, and fluent readers. There is a book study going on for it as well. I'll try to find the original post.
    Have a great weekend.

I also have that other book for struggling readers but haven't yet started it. All the Guided Math stuff intrigues me, but I don't own any texts yet...Congrats on the Melonheadz!! Super excited for you, and a little jealous;) I didn't realize Nikki was doing them again! I'll have to check into it...
