I have buckets of levelled readers. Each student has a home reading bag with a spot for a letter. I write their "easy level" (so the level below their instructional level) and that's the bucket they choose from. They take a book home, write it in their log, and bring it back the next day. Then in the morning they just put the book back and choose a new one.
